800 cherries is a Shibuya-kei band that formed in Sapporo in 1994 by Manami Marufuji, Ritsuko Oterra, and Masayuki Takahashi. In 1996, they released their 1st cassette tape album "piccolo" in 1995 and a mini album "800 cherries" in 1996. In 1997, Oterra would leave the band and 800 cherries would continue as a duo. Their third album "Romantico" was released in 1998 and in 1999 in the US by March Records. Their last album, opuscula would release in 2000. 2001 would be the year that they would disband. Takahashi would go on to join the band Replicant in 2001, then Pervenche in 2007.
