Tsuyome (強めギャル)

When you think of a gyaru in your mind, you're probably thinking of a Tsuyome gyaru! Tsuyome gals (Strong gals formally called kuronba) are super flashy and extra. Tsuyome gals started to appear around the mid-to-late 2000s and are still around to this day. In the modern day, any gyaru who has tanned skin and flashy clothing is considered a Tsuyome gyaru. "Kuronba"(くろんば/ 96んば) was its former name but since it sounds like a similar word, "Kuronbou" (黒ん坊), which is an old slur against black men, Gaijin gals started to prefer to use tsuyome. Tsuyome also became the popular term in Japan as well.
