Onee gyaru are gyaru that are over the age of 20 but under the age of 35. The style has a hyperfeminine, sexy, and mature feel. The style dates back to the ganguro era under the name "Gal Onesan" or "Otona Gal". Since the beginning, kogyaru have been the face of the gyaru subculture. But in the mid 2000's, Onee gyaru and the style that comes with it would become more popular. Magazines targeted torwards onee gals like Happie Nuts and Jelly would be created during this time.
