B-gyaru/ B-kei (Bギャル/B渓)

B-gyaru wear clothing inspired by Black and Hip Hop culture. This also includes Rasuta(ラスタ), a style that is inspired by Rastafarian culture. The style became popular at the turn of the millenium due to the rise of popularity of R&B and Hip-Hop music in Japan. Japanese musicians like Namie Amuro, Double, Tina, Zeebra, m-flo, and more contributed to the b-kei boom. B-gyaru is also a contraversial substyle due to the rampant cultural appropriation. In gaijin gyaru spaces, B-gyaru is usually reserved for black gaijin gyaru.
