Rare Gyaru Magazines Pt. 2

May 30th, 2024

mama Angel

A gyaru mama magazine from the early 2010s. It has four issues...that i know of. I like the aesthetic of the covers.

Nagoyajou PINDOM

A short-lived Koakuma Ageha inspired kyabajou magazine based in Nagoya, Japan. It's kinda funny how the magazine got discontinued. On January 23rd, 2010, the Hanasaka Times broadcast conducted an on-the-street survey of 20 women to find out how well they were aware of the magazine. Of the 14 people who answered that they knew, three were from the model agency in Nagoya that edits the magazine. The matter was discovered after an internal investigation after a viewer pointed it out on the 27th.

Rose

A hime gyaru magazine that is so friggin rare for some reason. I dont even know how i found these pictures i think i got them off of Live Journal. At least when I searched up the name on the other rare magazines I found, they gave me at least one image, but not for this one *lolz*.

Kilala

A super short-lived hime gyaru magazine from 2008. There's only two issues released but the second issue is available on archive.org.

Kira Job

A job-finding magazine just for gals! Majority of the jobs listed are beauty related or hostess club related.

Chum!

A magazine similar to Ranking Daisuki or Shibuya News that focused on gyaru brands, new releases, and trends in Shibuya.

Should I make a part 3? I don't know im running out of rare magazines that i can think of lmaoo.

Rare Gyaru Magazines Pt. 1

April 14th, 2024

Hey y'all. It's been SEVEN...MONTHS...since my last entry. I want to be more active on my site, especially in the blog section. Today I want to talk about underrated or rarely talked about Gyaru magazines as there are a lot more that you think!

Kinki Ju Street/ Kinjus

Considered to be the first teen magazine in the Kansai region, Kinki Ju Street debuted Summer of 98'. In 99' it would shorten its name to Kinjus and would solely focus on Gyaru fashion. When I tell you how hard it was to find information on this magazine let alone images...it was hard.

Tokyo Street News/ Stonew

Like Kinjus, Tokyo Street News also started out as a teens magazine and first issued in 96'. Mid 1999, they would transition from youth culture to gyaru culture and by September 2000 they would change the name to Stonew and would become a fully gyaru magazine. This one is much more easier to find and there are multiple listings on Mercari Jp, Rakuten, and Yahoo auctions.

akagumi

A spin-off magazine of egg that only has three volumes from 2000. At first I didn't know it had any connections to egg. I didn't even think that it was a gyaru magazine until I saw a section in an issue of egg talking about it and looked it up online.

Shibuya Production

It only has two issues from 1999. I was lucky to find one for an affordable price because I found another listing for the first issue....they wanted like $230 ...no maam.

B.B. Gals

Another Gyaru magazine with only three issues. This one has a lot of shiro hada and Onee gyaru styles. It also features a lot of charisma gyaru at the time.

I think I'm gonna break this up into parts becuz there are so many that I can name lmaooo. See Yazz!
